ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Lady Vikings suffered a 55-45 loss to the Rams of Winston-Salem State University on Saturday.

The Vikings drop to 2-5 overall on the season.

Senior forward
Devona Stell (Atlanta, GA) pioneered the Vikings on both ends of the floor recording a double double with 10 points, 16 rebounds, four blocks, and four steals. Pitts followed up with 13 points and five rebounds on the day.

The Rams were led by Taylor Daniels who recorded 17 points and Melody Prichard adding 16 points and six rebounds.Â

ECSU shot 35.4 percent from the field, 20 percent from behind the arc, and 45 percent at the line.

WSSU shot 35.6 percent from the field, 23.8 percent from behind the arc, and 75 percent at the line.Â

The first quarter of action provided an even pace for both teams ending in a 13-all tie, but the Rams held the Vikings to only nine points in the second quarter sending ECSU into halftime trailing 28-22.Â

Pitts was a huge force for the Vikings on the floor in the second half scoring 10 of her 13 points to keep the Vikings within striking distance.Â

At the 6:48 mark a three pointer by junior guard
Felicia Jackson (Gainesville, Fl) made it a two-possession game 45-41 WSSU, but the Rams answered back with a three pointer from Prichard.

WSSU ended the game on a 10-4 run.
The Vikings will be back in action on Thursday, December 12 in the Raleigh, NC to take on the Bears of Shaw University at 6 p.m for their first stop a four game road trip.Â
