ELIZABETH CITY, NC-The Elizabeth City State University Athletic Department has released the schedule for the 2005 football season.

ECSU will open up the 2005 season at home on August 27 as they will host Livingstone College at 7:00pm at Roebuck Stadium. The two other games that will be played on the Vikings' home turf will be October 8 versus Bowie State University at 1:30pm and Homecoming 2005 which will take place October 22 against Saint Paul's College at 2:00pm.

The 7th Annual Down East Viking Football Classic will take place in Rocky Mount, NC on Saturday, September 24 at 6:00pm. For the first time in the Classic?s history the Vikings will welcome the Falcons of Saint Augustine' College out of Raleigh, NC.

The ten-game schedule will feature six road contests, including a Division 1-AA opponent from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in Bethune-Cookman College. The Vikings will face the Wildcats in Daytona Beach Florida on September 3 at 7:00pm. Other road games include Fayetteville State on September 10 and Winston-Salem State on September 17. The month of October will feature road games at Virginia State (October 1) and defending CIAA champion Shaw University (October 15). The Vikings will conclude the regular season on October 29 as they will travel to face Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA.
