Sha-Teisa Sharpe enters her first season with the Lady Vikings as an assistant coach.
Sharpe returns to Elizabeth City State University after playing for the Lady Vikings from 2004-2008. While attending ECSU she was also a member of the cross-country team for four years and softball team for one year.
In 2011, she started her head coaching career at her high school alma mater Hertford County High. It was the foundation she needed to get her coaching career started and give back to the organization that molded her.
“Now, I get to come home again. I have a servant’s heart and I’m excited to grow within this program under the tutelage of Coach Lewis and Coach Woodard. I want to make a positive impact on our student-athletes so they can be successful now and once they graduate and become productive leaders.”
Sharpe is currently serving in her 7th year of the North Carolina Army National Guard. She holds the rank of Staff Sergeant and has earned one Army Commendation Medal, three Army Achievement medals, two Armed Forces Service Medal, one Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Ribbon.
Sharpe graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Aquatics and fitness from ECSU. In 2016, she earned her Master’s degree from Liberty University in Sports Management with a concentration in Sports Administration.
Sharpe is a Harrellsville, North Carolina native.
