Coach Kenny “Coach K” White is entering his fifth season at Elizabeth City State University with the Viking Men’s Basketball team as Assistant Coach. A native of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, he was a standout guard at Pasquotank County High School and a dual athlete in Men’s Basketball and Cross-Country at Elizabeth City State University (2007-2011).
Coach White comes to Elizabeth City State University after recently serving as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU) located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He served in this capacity for two seasons(2016-2018). Last season the MACU Mustangs won the 2018 NIT National Championship.
Coach White, began his coaching career at Pasquotank County High School as the Assistant Coach Women’s basketball (4 seasons) and as; Head Coach women’s basketball (2 seasons).
Coach White has been called a “Players Coach”. White relates to each player and treats them with respect. He is interested in developing student-athletes as a whole whether it’s teaching fundamentals on the court, having a competitive spirit or becoming a good citizen.
He earned two Bachelor of Science degrees from Elizabeth City State University (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education). In 2014 he completed a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Keller Graduate School of Management, DeVry University. Coach White participated and completed a Sports Administration course administered through Sports Management World Wide. White is also a Registered Official through the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). Kenny is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc.
