Coach Melchiorre is entering his first season with the Vikings. Prior to Melchiorre's arrival in Elizabeth City, he served as the defensive backs coach at Southern Connecticut State University in 2022. Mainly working with safeties, punters, and long snappers. Developed NE-10 All Rookie Punter, Andreas Picareli.
Prior to coaching at SCSU, Melchiorre played 3 years professionally in Europe.
2021- Spent time with the Helsinki Roosters, where he was 1st Team Maple League All Star for Defensive Back and Return Specialist. Led the Maple League in Punt and Kick Return average, yards, and touchdowns. Also Broke a Maple league record for most return TD’s in a game, with 3.
2019- Spent time with the Lazio Ducks was named 1st team Italian Football League Safety, where he led the league in interceptions with 6. Led the IFL in punt return yards and average.
2018- Spent time with the Badalona Dracs was named Spanish Bowl MVP and 2018 National Champions.
Prior to 2018, Melchiorre was a 4 year letterman at American International College (DII) NE-10 Conference, in Springfield, Massachusetts(2014-17). Played in 44 games, 9 career interceptions, 171 tackles, 10 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, and a safety. Sophomore year lead D2 in turnovers (10). Served as Captain his senior year, second in the conference with interceptions(4), and most tackles from a defensive back with (60).
Graduated with a Bachelors in communications, and a minor in psychology. Went to Milford Academy Prep School in New Berlin NY in fall 2013
