Jonathan Brown enters his sixth season as a member of the ECSU Football coaching staff where he will serve as offensive line/tight ends coach and equipment liaison.
Over the last two seasons, Brown has mentored a talented offensive line/ tight end unit that have helped protect and pave the way for one of the most prolific passers in the CIAA.
Brown's offensive line helped the Vikings average over 350 yards per game. Through the air, Brown’s O-Line protected the number two passer in the CIAA with 2,318 passing yards and 231.8 yds per game. On the ground Brown's 2017 O-Line blocked for a running game that rushed for 1,500 yards
Individually Brown coached 2016 HBCU, D-ll All American and All CIAA Tight End Victor Tabbs (2016), All-CIAA honorees Keon Brewer (2016) and Brain Wells (2016).
Prior to coaching, Brown was a four-year letterman at Elizabeth City State. While at ECSU, Brown played offensive line, and contributing on special teams. As a senior, Brown helped lead the Vikings to a Pioneer Bowl Championship beating Tuskegee University. Brown was a part of two CIAA Championship appearance, two divisional championship, and one playoff appearance.
A native of Beaufort, SC, Brown graduated from Battery Creek High School where he was a four year letterman playing offensive and defensive line. Competing in basketball, wrestling, track and baseball.
Brown is a proud member of AFCA and serve on the D-ll Assistant Coaches Committee.
Brown received his B.A. in Biblical Studies and networking.
Jon Brown is the son to Michael and Eleanor Brown.
Brown is married to former Jessica Hamilton and the couple reside in Elizabeth City
