Tailgating Rules

General Rules for Roebuck Stadium Tailgating

Elizabeth City State University prohibits the possession and use of alcoholic beverages in areas open to the public, including the outside of buildings open to the public.

Alcohol Policy:
It is a violation of state law and university policy to illegally possess, use, distribute, manufacture, sell or be under the influence of illicit drugs.
Most importantly, individuals, groups, and organizations holding or participating in tailgate parties are responsible for their own conduct and are expected to respect the rights of others and the entire University community.

Entrance & Setup Information:
Gates open for Vendors at 6:00 am on gameday. Vendors will have from 6:00 am to 7:30 am to receive credentials and set up. After 7:30, access will not be allowed.  
From 8:00 am to 9:30 am, tailgaters will be allowed to come in and set up. 
After set up has been completed, vehicles must be moved to the Hoffler grass lot(directions will be provided). 
All occupants must have tickets to gain access to the facility.

Business Reconciliations for Vendors: 

Gross sales receipts will be collected by the Assistant AD/Business Operations prior to departure. 
Per the initial contract agreement, there is a fifteen percent (15%) commission on gross sales to be sent via cashier's check or money order. Payment is to be satisfied no later than seven business days after the event has concluded.

No overnight occupancy is allowed in tailgating areas. Tailgating sites open at 6 a.m. on "gameday" and must be cleared and cleaned by 7 p.m. Please place all trash in trash bags and place it in the trash containers. If tailgating areas are unavailable to collect your materials due to road closure or contraflow traffic, we ask that you be ready to move out when the roads reopen.

The ECSU Athletics Department reserves the right to reject any organization whose goals, objectives, or presentation of goods may be offensive to the citizens and not in the best interest of the university. Any tailgater who refuses to adhere to the guidelines as indicated will be subjected to ejection from the stadium without a refund.

Excessively loud music will not be tolerated. Please make sure that all music is suitable for public listening. No vulgarity or offensive language will be allowed.

Tailgaters must present photo identification in order to pick up their tailgating passes and enter the tailgating area on game day. A game ticket must also be displayed.
