Junior receiver Zion Riddick (Ahoskie, NC) earned an All-CIAA Preseason nod. In 2019, Riddick amassed 1,001 yards off kick returns for the Vikings special teams' unit, leading the conference in return yards for the entire 2019 season.

The Ahoskie, N.C. native opened up the 2019 season with a 200-yard performance and a career long 99 yard return against Division I opponent Hampton University in the Battle of the Border.

"Zion Riddick, who I often refer to as "Little Bit" because of his lack of size but not due to his lack of heart and desire to compete. I tired to give the name to someone else but he said Coach I'm the only Little Bit and of course he was right and he has earned it and the respect of all his teammates and Coaches because of his efforts," shared Head Coach Anthony Jones. "I always knew he could run but when it comes to him returning kickoff's he is fearless and once he gets the ball the excitement begins. The entire team gets excited when he touches the ball because we all feel he can break it or provide us with a boost at any time.  The Vikings are glad to have him on our side."
