CONCORD, WV - The Elizabeth City State Vikings (2-6) put on a strong offensive showing, but the team could not get the stops that they needed in a hard-fought four-set loss to the Concord Mountain Lions (5-6). The Vikings finished the match with an impressive 45 kills in the 22-25, 16-25, 25-23, and 24-26 loss.
The Vikings did not take the loss meekly as the team put on a terrific offensive effort. In addition to finishing the match with 45 total kills, the Vikings also added four service aces. Junior Kendal Washington led the way for the Vikings with a double-double 13 kills and 16 digs along with a service ace in the match. Fellow junior
Cameron Mitrovich added 11 kills with 20 assists as well. Sophomore
Cadence Rascoe led the Vikings' defensive effort with five total blocks (none solo) in the match.
With the loss, the Vikings fall to 2-7 overall. The team will get an early start in their next action when they take on the Davis & Elkins Senators in a 9:00 a.m. match.
