CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Elizabeth City State University is encouraging alumni, supporters, and members of the Viking community to submit nominations for the 2027 CIAA John B. McLendon Hall of Fame Class.

The nomination process is now officially open for individuals and teams who have made a lasting impact on the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and helped shape the conference's rich history and legacy. Eligible nominees may be recognized for their contributions as athletes, coaches, administrators, officials, or community leaders affiliated with a CIAA member institution.

Founded in 1967 and renamed in 2000 in honor of legendary coach and educator John B. McLendon Jr., the Hall of Fame celebrates the achievements and enduring influence of those who have contributed to the success and tradition of the CIAA. The Hall of Fame also serves as a platform to preserve the conference's history while honoring individuals and teams whose leadership and accomplishments have left a meaningful mark on the league.

The CIAA will officially begin accepting nominations on April 1, 2026. All nomination materials must be submitted by August 15, 2026..
