ECSU Garners Split With Panthers In League Clash

RICHMOND, VA. – The Elizabeth City State Vikings Softball team split a CIAA Northern Division clash against Virginia Union on Saturday afternoon on the road.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORES

Virginia Union escaped with a game one victory scoring on a wild pitch for the walk-off win in the seventh inning.

Karrigan Belangia led the offense for the Vikings with four hits including three doubles and two RBI.  Belangia went 3-4 with all three doubles in the nightcap.

Allison Perry collected four hits with two doubles and a RBI on the afternoon.  Courtney Ward added three hits with two doubles and a stolen base.

Karma Fields picked up two hits including a three-run home run in the first game.

Courtney Hoggard and Emma Fleming tallied two hits each.

In the nightcap victory, the bullpen helped power the Lady Vikings to victory as Shaina Lugo and Oreanna Donaldson allowed one unearned run over the final five innings of play.

UP NEXT

Elizabeth City State heads to Petersburg, Va. to take on Virginia State in CIAA Northern Division action on Friday, April 11.  First pitch is slated for 2pm.
