OXFORD, Pa. – Elizabeth City State University picked up a key CIAA victory Thursday night, defeating Lincoln (Pa.) 3–1 (25–14, 9-25, 25-16, 25–17) at Oxford Area High School. The Vikings controlled the pace early and finished strong to secure their third win in a row.
ECSU hit .207 as a team and delivered one of their most balanced offensive performances of the year. Jorja Hoffman led the charge with 15 kills and eight digs while also adding two service aces and a solo block for an 18-point outing. Christen Brisbane chipped in six kills, two blocks, and a service ace, while Jalayah Hamby added five kills and three aces.
Setter Serenity Lunnermon ran the offense with 27 assists, four service aces, and a team-high 11 digs. Kris'Ani Hunt was efficient on the attack, tallying five kills on a .400 hitting percentage.
The Vikings dominated at the service line, posting 15 aces on the night while limiting Lincoln to just a .067 hitting percentage. ECSU's defense also held firm, finishing with 38 digs and five total blocks.
For Lincoln, A. Fru led the Lions with 14 assists and seven service aces, while C. Manley and K. Wright each recorded eight kills.
With the win, Elizabeth City State improves to 3–11 overall and 3–3 in CIAA play, while Lincoln drops to 0–14 (0–5 CIAA).
