LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. –The Elizabeth City State University football team exploded for 62 points and more than 440 yards of total offense on Saturday afternoon, powering past Lincoln University (Pa.) 62-14 in CIAA play at LU Football Stadium.
The Vikings (2-6, 2-4 CIAA) scored in all four quarters and used a dominant passing attack led by Christopher Perkins, who threw for 258 yards and four touchdowns. ECSU's defense and special teams also made their presence felt, forcing five fumbles and blocking a field goal that turned into a highlight-reel score by Jamari Blake. Lincoln (0-8, 0-6 CIAA) struck early to tie the game 7-7 in the first quarter, but the Vikings quickly took control and never looked back.

Elizabeth City State finished the day with 443 yards of total offense, including 339 through the air and 104 on the ground, while holding Lincoln to 309 total yards.
The Vikings moved the chains 27 times compared to 16 for the Lions and converted 8-of-12 third downs. ECSU averaged 6.7 yards per play and committed just six penalties for 35 yards. ECSU also capitalized on turnovers, recovering three of Lincoln's five fumbles and returning one interception for 26 yards.

Quarterback
Christopher Perkins led the Vikings' aerial attack, completing 18 of 26 passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns while connecting with nine different receivers. Perkins posted a 203.4 quarterback rating and delivered scoring strikes of 35, 24, 22, and 16 yards.
Through the air,
Ka'Trez Bracey paced the receiving corps with eight catches for 98 yards.
Terrance Holland and
Joe Griffin each hauled in two touchdowns, combining for 103 receiving yards, while
Shamar Sutton added a 35-yard score. ECSU's depth was on display as Perkins distributed at least one pass to nine different receivers.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday, November 1, against Bowie State in the Vikings last contest of a three-game road swing. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
ECSU will then close out the regular season at home on November 8 against Bluefield State University for Homecoming & Senior Day at Roebuck Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
