CARY, NC | The ECSU Men's and Women's cross-country teams competed at the HBCU Great American XC Festival on Friday. The Vikings were one of 13 HBCUs to participate in the event and one of six from the CIAA.

The men had a total team score of 3:01:28.90 coming in 10th. Gavin Jessup and Cameron Putman placed in the top 50th. Jessup came in 48th with a time of 32.00.4, and Putman followed behind in 49th with 32.00.8.

For the women, Madison Henderson came in 55th place at 28:12.1. Yasmonasia Boone followed in 69th place at 32:27.8.

The Vikings return to action on Oct. 11 when they participate in the Virginia State Challenge.
