Women's Basketball Outlast the Rams, Led by Hill

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Elizabeth City State women's basketball team (7-5, 1-3 CIAA) picked up a road victory against Winston-Salem State (5-8, 0-4 CIAA) 72-62, on Thursday morning, at the CE Gaines Center.

The Vikings would capture their first conference victory of the season versus the Rams of WSSU. The Vikings have three players finish with double-digits. 

The Vikings were led by Guard, Alanis Hill, who has been on a tear since starting conference play. Hill would come into this game with a field goal percentage of 47 percent.

Hill would have another spectacular performance driving the basketball, and scoring 23 points, grabbing six rebounds and four steals.

Dy'Jhanik Armfield would have her best performance since returning, putting up 17 points, and shooting 7-13 from the field. Armfield, would also add two steals to her performance over the Rams.

Rashauna Grant would follow her double-double performance providing 15 points and six rebounds while also recording four steals. 

The Lady Vikings will return to action on Saturday, January 6, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to face off with the Livingstone Blue Bears. Tip-off is set for 2 PM.
