ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - The Elizabeth City State volleyball team secured their first CIAA conference win over Virginia Union in five sets 3-2 (25-20, 25-18, 15-25, 22-25, 10-15) in the R.L. Vaughan Center Thursday night. The team improves to a .500 season (6-6 overall, 1-0 CIAA) as the panther drop to 3-4 overall (0-1, CIAA). This is the fourth straight win for Elizabeth City over Virginia Union since 2019.

Junior right side hitter Elizabeth Kellum posted her second triple double of the season with 12 kills, 22 assists, and 11 digs. 
The team outscored VUU 74 to 58 in total game points 
Vikings produced six aces throughout the match with two back-to-back coming from redshirt sophomore Portia Strasburg
