Elizabeth City, N.C.- The Vikings fall 0-2 to Winston-Salem State University in a double header loss on the road Saturday, March 13.
The Vikings fall to an (0-4) record to start the season after this week's contests against the Rams (4-0).
"Difficult loss but we are still optimistic for the future, "said head coach
Erin Forbes. "We will continue to make adjustments and shift our focus to prepare for Shaw."

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1
- The Vikings allowed 10 unanswered runs in the opening inning of the game putting the Rams in the driver's seat.
- Despite the rough start the Vikings were able to make adjustments on defense and slow the Rams offense down.
- Alexis Blackwell nailed her first homerun of the season during the fifth inning to give the Vikings their second and final run of the game.
- Alexis Monroe and Casie Wright each pitched a pair of innings for the Vikings. Monroe gave up 13 runs, eight earned and two strikeouts. Wright gave up four runs, one earned, and four strikeouts.
Game 2
- The Vikings were held to no hits at the conclusion of five innings in a very tough end to the day.
- The Vikings allowed 8 unanswered runs.
- Five runs for the Rams in the fourth inning proved to be the turning point that the Vikings couldn't come back from.
- Kali Flannagan led the Vikings pitching efforts for three innings giving up eight earned runs and two strikeouts.
- Anastasia Morrison pioneered the Rams no hitter.
