ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Vikings suffered a 56-51 loss on the road at Winston-Salem State University Monday night.
The Vikings drop to 7-10 overall on the season, 3-4 in the CIAA
The duo of  Senior forwardÂ
Devona Stell (Atlanta, GA) and sophomore forward
Sireann Pitts (Raleigh, NC) led the Vikings scoring efforts totaling 14 points each.

Stell was a huge presence for the Vikings defense capturing a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds on the night. She also accounted for three steals and a pair of blocks for ECSU.

Teara Johnson led the Rams in scoring  with 18 points.

ECSUÂ shot 29.1 percent from the field, 15 percent from behind the arc, and 64 percent at the line.

WSSUÂ shot 37.3 percent from the field, 16.7 percent from behind the arc, and 50 percent at the line.Â
Key three-pointers in the opening quarter of action from Pitts and sophomore guard
Azhante Rodgers (Portsmouth, VA) gave the Vikings their largest lead of the game up 20-13 heading into the second quarter.
The Vikings didn't have much success from three-point land for the rest of the night as ECSU traded quarters with the Rams going into halftime tied at 30-all.

Both teams struggled in the third quarter only coming away with eight points each tied at 38-all.

WSSU outscored the Vikings 18-13 in the final stanza to claim the 56-51 victory.
The Vikings will be on the road in Lincoln, PA to take on the Lions of Lincoln University on Monday, January 20th. Tip off is slated for 5:30pm.
