ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Vikings came up short 72-65 against the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University.
The Vikings drop to 9-6 overall on the season, 3-3 in the CIAA
Junior guard
Zaccheus Hobbs (Maysville, NC) led the charge for the Vikiings offensively recording 21 points.
Senior forward
Joseph Allen (Miami Gardens, Fl) fueled the vikings defense recording a double-double with 14 rebounds and 11 points.

Cayse Minor led the Golden Bulls scoring efforts with 21 points.

ECSUÂ shot 37.7 percent from the field, 14.3 percent from behind the arc, and 69.2 percent at the line.

The Golden Bulls shot 43.9 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from behind the arc, and 72 percent at the line.Â
The Vikings outscored the Golden Bulls 21-11 off second chance point opportunities, but 15 ECSU turnovers resulted in 15 points for JCSU.Â
The Vikings won the battle of the boards out rebounding JCSU 46-36, but a not so good shooting night from behind the arc would become the Vikings achilles heel
JCSU missed consecutive free throws in the final minutes of action allowing the Vikings to stay within striking distance, but ECSU could not take advantage of the two-possession game.
The Vikings will be on the road in Winston Salem, NC to take on the Rams of Winston Salem State University on Monday, January 13th. Tip off is slated for 7:30pm.
