Box Score The Elizabeth City State volleyball and cross country teams finished a busy weekend of competition on Sunday afternoon.
Volleyball at King
BRISTOL, TENN. -- The volleyball team finished their two game road trip with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of King University in Bristol, Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.Â
ECSU dropped to 1-4 on the season. King improved to 4-5 on the 2019 campaign.
The Vikings improved on their hitting percentage from Saturday afternoon but were outdone by the Tornadoes in kills (36-20) on the afternoon.
Kaylee Williams led all Vikings with seven kills. Freshman
Chayse Tyler continued her success from their service line as she racked up two service aces on the afternoon. Freshman
Nasya Cabanez notched six assists to lead ECSU and junior
Jahera Dangerfield led the Vikings in digs with 12.
The Vikings will take the week off before welcoming Lincoln University to the R.L. Vaughan Center on Wednesday, October 2nd.
Cross Country at Virginia State Invitational
ETTRICK, VA. -- The ECSU cross country team continued their success on the course as the Viking women placed second and the men placed third at the Virginia State Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Felicia Jackson paced the Viking effort in the 5k women's race with a time of 23:26. The men were led by freshman
Jordan Hathaway whose 32:46 time was the 10th best time of the afternoon.
