ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -- In their first conference game of the 2019-2020 season, the Elizabeth City State University volleyball team defeated Lincoln University, 3-0, inside of the R.L. Vaughan Center on Wednesday night.

Jahera Dangerfield led the Vikings in kills with seven and sophomore
Asia Jones and Matewah Tamba both had three aces a piece.
Asia Jones also led the team in assists with 16 and Dangerfield also notched five digs.
In the first set the Vikings trailed throughout the set until tying the match at 19 before finishing the set on a 7-5 run to win the set.
ECSUÂ (2-4, 1-0 CIAA) trailed again in the second set before taking control 18-12 following a
Jahera Dangerfield kill. Lincoln mounted a challenge to close the gap to two, 20-18, before the Vikings closed on a 5-2 run to win the second set, 25-20.
The Vikings controlled the third set from the beginning, taking a 13-2 lead to begin the set and cruised to a 25-6 win.
The Vikings will be back in action at the CIAA Round Up at Claflin on Saturday and Sunday. ECSU will face the host Panthers at noon on Saturday.
