HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:

Chowan jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the first five minutes of play as the Hawks connected on six out of their first nine field goal attempts. The Hawks lead ballooned to 19 on a Michael Kelly jumper with 10:19 left to go in the first half before the Vikings, led by Petteway, started to chip away at that lead cutting it to 12 on a Shyheid Petteway 3-pointer with 6:18 left in the first half. The Hawks would extend the lead to the halftime margin following a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer by Timothy Bing.

Second Half:

The Vikings and the Hawks would go back and forth as the Hawks were never able to extend their lead over 20 in the second half but the Vikings were not able to cut to within 12 in the second half. ECSU was able to close the night on a 3-point basket from Jonari Hill to close the final gap to 17.
