Hampton, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletics Association (CIAA®) in conjunction with its Volleyball Coaches Association announces the 2014 Preseason All-CIAA Volleyball Team and Predicted Order of Finish.

ECSU's Rosetta Becerra has been named to the 2014 Preseason All-CIAA team. Last season Becerra, a senior outside hitter who hails from Riverside, CA, made history becoming the first Lady Viking in school history to be named CIAA Player of the Year. She led her team in kills in 2013, topped the CIAA kills per set and was second in kills overall in the conference.

Two-time defending champion Fayetteville State has two preseason selections while Chowan University has the most selections with three.

As voted on by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association, Winston-Salem State, the 2013 CIAA Southern Division title holder, was predicted to win the upcoming season. Defending champion Fayetteville State, who defeated the Lady Rams in four sets last season, made the second spot followed by Virginia State. The Lady Trojans tied WSSU for the best record in the CIAA last year.

Last season ECSU placed third overall in the CIAA Northern Division and finished with a 10-12 record (CIAA 10-6).

The Lady Vikings will begin the season September 5-6 at the Al Roseboro Invitational hosted by Winston-Salem State University.

Fayetteville State will host the Championship Tournament in Felton J. Capel Arena November 14 - 16.
