Final Stats

WASHINGTON, DC-The Elizabeth City State University volleyball team won their season opener in four sets over Goldey-Beacom College (25-21, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22) Friday afternoon at the Lady Firebird Classic hosted by the University of the District of Columbia.

ECSU, who was led by junior outside hitter Whitney Green's match high 13 kills, took sets one, three and four in victory. Morghan Stallings chipped in a solid all-around game with 12 kills, 15 digs and 6 service aces. As a team the Lady Vikings service game see-sawed; although they out-aced their opponents 13 to 7, ECSU spotted Goldey-Beacom easy points by committing 17 service errors.

Overall the Lightening could not keep pace with ECSU's attack game as the Lady Vikings totaled 44 kills while GBC negated their offense with 26 kills versus 26 errors.

Taylor Moyer posted 10 kills in the losing effort for GBC.
