LADY VIKINGS FALL TO BARTON COLLEGE IN FOUR SETS

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Barton College Lady Bulldogs earned a season split with Elizabeth City State University by handing the Lady Vikings a four set loss (25-21, 25-17, 26-28, 26-24) Monday night at the RL Vaughan Center.

It marks the first setback for the Lady Vikings at home this season.

Kati Wood and Melissa Cochran led the charge for the Lady Bulldogs with 16 and 13 kills, respectively. Barton improves to 6-14 overall while the Lady Vikings slip to 11-8 on the year.

Defensively both teams were stout, combining for 151 digs and 27 total team blocks. However ECSU struggled in their attack game with more errors (33) than kills (32) while Barton +22 in kills to errors, 53 to 31.

ECSU rallied from two sets down to take the third set 28-26 before falling in the final one at a close 26-24 clip.
