Final Stats
ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings fell in a three set match to the University of North Carolina-Pembroke 25-19, 25-6, 25-20 Tuesday evening at the RL Vaughan Center.
Tiara Anderson and ECSU's Whitney Green led their respective teams with 9 kills apiece.
The Lady Braves offense operated like a well oiled machine, racking up 45 kills on 42 assists (vs. 18 errors), with Heather Bolwerk leading the way with a match high 22 assists. Marissa Baker anchored UNCP's defense with a game high 14 digs and the Lady Braves service game blanked ECSU 8-0 in aces.
UNCP (3-2) seized the match's momentum in set two with a solid 13 to 1 kill-error ratio.
The Lady Vikings (1-3) will return to the court in non-conference action at the Mount Olive Invitational September 9-10th. On Friday they will face host Mount Olive (4:00pm) North Greenville (8:00pm) and will wrap up action on Saturday against Fayetteville State (10:00am) and Lander (12noon).
