Final Stats
RICHMOND, VA- Elizabeth City State University freshman outside hitter Whitney Green led the charge as the Lady Vikings picked up their first CIAA win of the season with a three set sweep of Virginia Union University (25-21, 25-10, 25-7) Tuesday evening at Barco Stevens Hall.
The Greenville, NC native topped all players with a game high 10 kills versus only one hitting error. With the win the Lady Vikings spoiled Virginia Union's home opener, simultaneously dropping the Lady Panthers to 1-5 overall (CIAA 0-1).
ECSU held the Lady Panthers to a negative hitting percentage in the match with 12 kills versus 26 errors (-.192). Aisha Berkley paced VUU with a team high 6 kills.
The Lady Vikings (2-2, CIAA 1-0) will return to action when they take on Shaw University and Winston-Salem State as a part of the 2010 CIAA Roundup on Saturday, September 11th.
