Final Stats

ELIZABETH CITY, NC-Barton College handed Elizabeth City State their second consecutive home loss 3 sets to 1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-18) Monday evening at the RL Vaughan Center.

The Lady Vikings took the opening set 25-23 only to see Barton (7-9) rally to take three straight and the match. Three Lady Bulldogs tallied double figures in kills with Melissa Ritter's contributing a game high 14. Ritter also had a match high 5 service aces. The Lady Bulldogs totaled 11 aces to 2 for ECSU and defensively were plus 13 (74-61) in digs.

The Lady Bulldogs leapt out to comfortable leads in the final two sets from which proved to be too much for Lady Vikings could overcome. ECSU did set a season best as a team with 15.0 total blocks.

Eva Johnson was the only Lady Viking with double digit kills with 10.
