LADY VIKINGS TAKE TWO FROM SAINT PAUL'S

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings made quick and easy work of their double header with Saint Paul's College by sweeping both volleyball matches 3-0 Thursday afternoon at the RL Vaughan Center.

The Lady Vikings won the first match in 45 minutes 25-3, 25-6, 25-10. As a team they hit 44 percent from the floor. Jasmin Knox, who at one point served 14 straight points in game one, had 4 of the Lady Vikings 13 service aces. Jennifer Hendy topped ECSU with a team high 8 kills.

In match two, the Lady Tigers were the home team on scoreboard but the result was the same. This time ECSU took 47 minutes to dispose of Saint Paul's 25-6, 25-9, 25-11. Like the first match the Lady Vikings used their serve to keep the Lady Tigers off balance, racking up 17 for the game. Lia Scott and Stacie West tied with a team high 7 kills apiece.

Saint Paul's falls to 1-14 on the season and remain winless (0-8) in conference play.

ECSU (14-9, CIAA 10-1) will look to remain perfect in the CIAA Eastern Division when they host Bowie State University on Saturday at the RL Vaughan Center. Game time is scheduled for 1:00pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
