Final Stats
RALEIGH, NC- It took five sets (25-14, 25-12, 19-25, 21-25, 15-13) but the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings extended their win streak to seven games with a win over Peace College Tuesday evening.
After taking a commanding 2-0 set lead, the Lady Vikings fell victim to a momentum shift as the home-standing Pacers rebounded to force a fifth and deciding set. In sets three and four Peace College (7-3) were able to turns the tables on ECSU with hustle which resulted in double digit team kills to nine(9) in respective for the Lady Vikings. Set five was a back and forth affair in which ECSU fell behind by three points before rallying to close out the match.
Eva Johnson led the Lady Vikings with 17 kills (the only ECSU player with double digits) and 21 digs while Cassie Noe steadied the defensive effort with 19 digs of her own. Three Pacers tallied double digits with Leah Chandler topping her team with 13 kills.
