Final Stats
LAWRENCEVILLE, VA- The Elizabeth City State University volleyball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a three set sweep of Saint Paul's College (25-11, 25-9, 26-10) Wednesday evening at the Taylor-Whitehead Gymnasium.
With the victory the Lady Vikings improve to 2-0 in conference play and pick up the fifth win of the season. For the first time in 2008 no one tallied double figures in kills for ECSU but as a team effort the Lady Vikings had a team high in hitting percentage at .623 with only errors on the evening. Chelsea Amick had a game high 9 kills to lead the Lady Vikings while Keneil Rainey led Saint Paul's (2-9, CIAA 0-3) with four kills.
Oasis Ellison contributed a personal best for the season with 6 service aces in the win.
The Lady Vikings (5-6, CIAA 2-0) will return to action this weekend in Fayetteville, NC at the 2008 CIAA Volleyball Roundup. There they will face the CIAA teams from the Western Division. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
