HAMPTON, VA- Elizabeth City State freshman outside hitter Chelsea Amick has been named the 2008 CIAA Rookie of the Year as release by the CIAA Office.

Amick, a native of Woodbridge, VA currently leads the Lady Vikings in kills with 305 in 2008. She ranks fourth in the CIAA in kills and played a huge part in the Lady Vikings posting the best record in school history in addition to capturing their second consecutive CIAA Eastern Division title.

The Lady Vikings are the number one seed in the CIAA Volleyball tournament which is taking place in Hampton, VA this weekend at the Boo Williams Sportsplex. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
