LADY VIKING VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT CHOWAN UNIVERSITY 3-0

MUFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University Lady Hawks earned a hard fought win in a three game sweep of the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings 30-28, 30-23, 30-23 Monday night at the Helms Center.

The Lady Hawks improve to 2-2 overall while the Lady Vikings slip to 3-4 on the year.

With the win Chowan ended the Lady Vikings' win streak at three games. Possibly the difference in the closely contested match, the Lady Hawks held a slight edge in both service aces (11 to 8) and kills (41-32). Chowan was led by Antoinette McCollough and Adrian Cook with 11 kills each. Christina Hager represented the only Lady Viking in double digits with 10 kills in the loss.

The Lady Vikings will open up their 2007 conference schedule on Thursday, September 6th as they travel to Bowie, MD to take on Bowie State University. Game time is scheduled for 6:00pm at the A.C. Jordan Arena. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
