HAMPTON, VA- Xie'Ara Maybank-Smallings has been named CIAA Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Maybank-Smallings, a native of New Castle, DE, helped the Lady Vikings post a 5-1 record last week including wins in 4 of 5 games at the annual CIAA East West Round-Up in Fayetteville, NC. Her best outing came in a the Lady Vikings' 3-1 win over Saint Augustine's College on September 15th with 12 kills, 9 solo blocks and 2 blocks assisted. In the CIAA she ranks 2nd in hitting percentage and is 6th in solo blocks.
