ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Viking Volleyball team had an impressive run this past weekend, posting a 4-1 record at the annual CIAA Volleyball Roundup in Fayetteville, NC

At the CIAA Roundup, teams 5 cross-division matches over a weekend. For the East leading Lady Vikings, that meant facing all five of the conference's Western Division schools. On Saturday, ECSU went 3-0 beating Saint Augustine's in four games (27-30, 30-15, 30-27, 30-24) before sweeping both Johnson C. Smith 31-29, 30-14, 30-23 and Shaw University 30-26, 30-28, 30-27. On Sunday, the Lady Vikings dropped their only match of the weekend to Fayetteville State in four games before rebounding to sweep Livingstone to conclude the event.

The first place Lady Vikings (9-5) will host the second place Virginia State University Lady Trojans in a key divisional matchup on Thursday at 6:00pm at the RL Vaughan Center. Admission is free. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
