Final Stats

WILSON, NC- The Elizabeth City State University volleyball team notched its first win of the season with a sweep of Barton College (30-21, 30-28, 30-28) Wednesday night at Wilson Gymnasium.

The Lady Vikings (1-3) were paced by a solid all-around performance by Pre-Season All-CIAA selection Eva Johnson. The Havelock, NC native led the way with 12 kills, 4 service aces and 10 digs while sophomore TreCola Leary contributed 8 kills and a game high 12 digs. Freshman Stacie West chipped in with 9 kills and Ashley Tarasoff contributed 19 assists.

The Lady Bulldogs (0-2) dropped their second game in as many nights on their home floor. The win marks a solid outing for ECSU as they were swept in the last year's season series with Barton.

Michelle Walker and Brittany Hunsucker totaled 12 and 10 kills respectively in the loss.

The Lady Vikings will return to action this weekend in a tri-match with Peace College and Salem College in Raleigh, NC on the campus of Peace College. Game times are slated for 11:00am and 1:00pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
