HAMPTON, VA- Four members of the Elizabeth City State University volleyball team have been named to the 2007 CIAA All-Rookie team as voted by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association and announced by the CIAA Office Friday afternoon.

In their first year of collegiate competition, Xie'Ara Maybank-Smallings, Cassie Noe, Stacie West and Keshia Hardy were all instrumental in helping the Lady Vikings (19-9 overall) capture the 2007 CIAA Eastern Division crown. Xie'Ara Maybank-Smallings, who ranks 2nd in the CIAA in hitting percentage, was twice named CIAA Rookie of the Week in 2007. Noe, the team's starting libero, is 2nd in the league in digs and along with Maybank-Smallings and West, is a member of the 2007 All-CIAA Second Team as well.

The Lady Vikings (CIAA 12-1) will enter next week's CIAA Volleyball Championship as the #1 seed in the CIAA Eastern Division. Pool play is slated to begin at 9:00am Thursday in Charlotte, NC.
