ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings improved to 2-0 on the season with sweep of division rival Shaw University 30-19, 30-21 and 30-22 Tuesday night in Elizabeth City, NC.

The Lady Vikings more than doubled the Lady Bears in kills, 48 to 22. Tanika Hudgins led the Lady Vikings in kills for the second straight game with 13 while freshman Shae Armwood added 10 kills and 2 assisted blocks. Jessica Perry paced Shaw with 7 kills and 5 digs. The Lady Bears fall to 0-1 both overall and in conference play.

The Lady Vikings (2-0, CIAA 1-0) will be off until next Wednesday, September 7th when they will host Saint Paul's College. Game time is scheduled for 6:00pm at the RL Vaughan Center. For more information on ECSU athletics, log onto www.ecsuvikings.com.
