RALEIGH, NC- In their second five game match of the season, Elizabeth City State fell short to Shaw University Thursday night in Raleigh, NC 30-20, 30-24, 29-31, 25-30, 15-7.

Although the Lady Bears almost doubled the Lady Vikings in kills (64 to 38), it was a combined total of 27 errors in games three and four that lat ECSU back in the game. Shaw regrouped just enough to edge the Lady Vikings 15-13 in the fifth and deciding game.

Carletta Harrell and Jessica Perry led the Lady Bears with 23 and 17 kills respectively. For ECSU Tara Blakeney led the way with a team high 12 kills.

ECSU (7-9, CIAA 5-9) will now return home to host Bowie State University on October 23rd at 6:00pm in the RL Vaughan Center.
