RICHMOND, VA- The Virginia Union University Lady Panthers defeated the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings 3-0 (30-19, 30-27, 30-28) Tuesday night in Richmond, VA.
After dropping game one, ECSU managed to keep the remainder of the match close with defense. They finished with the match with a total of ten team blocks, powered by freshman Christina Hager who amassed 4 solo and 1 assisted. Ultimately the Lady Panthers' hitting was not to be denied led by Michaela Vanakova's 22 kills and 7 services aces. Gabriela Mokra added 11 kills while Christina Tayor amassed 8 service aces. Virginia Union finishes the regular season at 18-6 overall, a perfect 10-0 in the division.
ECSU wraps up 2004 with a 7-11 overall record.
