WASHINGTON, DC- The Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings earned their second series sweep of the 2004 season defeating the Lady Firebirds of the District of Columbia 30-20, 30-18, 26-30, 30-25.

Tara Blakeney collected 23 kills to lead the Lady Vikings' charge. As a team, ECSU finished with 52 kills to 32 for UDC. Freshman Yuriante' Pendleton added 12 kills for the Lady Vikings while April Shepherd paced the Lady Firebirds with 23 kills.

ECSU will travel to Raleigh, NC to face Shaw University on October 14th. Game time is slated for 6:00pm in Spaulding Gymnasium on the campus of Shaw University.
