ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Elizabeth City State University Head Volleyball Coach Linda Bell and freshman outside hitter Tanika Hudgins have been honored by the CIAA as the Coach of the Week and Rookie of the Week.

This marks the second time this season that Bell and Hudgins have received the recognitions.

In last week's action, the lady Viking went 2-0, snapping a four game losing streak. ECSU toppled both division rival Virginia State (9/28/05) and Chowan College (9/30) on the road. Tanika Hudgins, a 5-9 outside hitter from Rocky Mount, NC, had her best outing against Virginia State with 9 kills, 6 service aces and 12 digs.

ECSU Head Volleyball Coach Linda Bell has been named CIAA Coach of the Week twice in 2005. She is in her second year at the helm of the Lady Viking volleyball program
