MURFREESBORO, NC- The Elizabeth City State Lady Viking volleyball team defeated Chowan College in three straight games 30-14, 30-22 and 30-20 Friday night in Murfreesboro, NC.

The Lady Vikings completed the week's competition undefeated as they down division rival Virginia State University Wednesday night in Petersburg, VA. ECSU improves to 7-8 overall, remaining 5-5 in CIAA play.

Friday night's game was pretty straightforward as ECSU would dominate the Lady Braves from the opening serve. By the end of the match, the Lady Vikings had doubled the competition in kills (37 to 18), assists (30 to 15) and team blocks (6 to 2). They also held the edge defensively with 46 digs to 31 for Chowan. ECSU put forth a balanced attack with Yuriante' Pendleton and Tanika Hudgins contributing 8 kills apiece.
