Elizabeth City State University Athletics

LaShonda Anderson, Alumna of Elizabeth City State University, earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2016. During her time at ECSU, LaShonda was actively involved on campus as a member of the D’Lytes Cheerleading Team, ECSU Pep Squad, Intuition Dance Team, and Social Work Club. She also ran for Miss ECSU, and she was named 1st Runner Up and crowned Miss. Blue and White.

After graduating, LaShonda became a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), working with children and adults as a Mental Health Counselor both within the public school system and a psychosocial rehabilitation center. She also served as the Head Cheerleading Coach at Lakeland High School in Suffolk, Virginia, for six years, where she dedicated herself to developing student athletes on and off the mat.

LaShonda is now excited to bring her experience, leadership, school pride, and passion for cheerleading back to Elizabeth City State University as Head Coach of the D’Lytes Cheerleading Team.
