Jacqueline Briggs-Jackson

Jacqueline Briggs-Jackson enters her first year as the Director of Student-Athlete Success and Wellness at Elizabeth City State University, where she provides leadership in academic support, wellness programming, and holistic student-athlete development. Her work is grounded in ensuring student-athletes remain academically eligible, supported, and positioned for long-term success both in competition and in the classroom.

Briggs-Jackson brings more than two decades of experience in higher education administration, academic records, enrollment management, and compliance-driven processes. She is no stranger to ECSU, serving as Assistant Registrar in her previous role, where she managed academic records, credit evaluation, degree audits, and FERPA-compliant processes—key functions that directly support NCAA eligibility certification and academic progress standards.

She previously held the position of Director of Records and Registrar at Nash Community College, overseeing institutional records management, accreditation support, and academic policy implementation. Her leadership ensured accuracy, compliance, and integrity across all student data and reporting systems.

Earlier in her career, Briggs-Jackson served as Assistant Registrar at Meredith College, Transfer Credit Articulation Specialist at Winston-Salem State University, and Transfer Credit Articulation Coordinator at Savannah State University, where she developed deep expertise in transfer evaluation, credit articulation, and policy interpretation. Her work consistently required close collaboration with faculty, advisors, and administrators to ensure institutional and regulatory compliance.

Her extensive background also includes more than 15 years at Armstrong Atlantic State University, where she held roles in admissions and degree program support, managing transfer evaluations, accreditation standards, FERPA compliance, and staff training.

Briggs-Jackson is recognized for her strengths in academic administration, student development, data integrity, policy interpretation, and cross-department collaboration. She is deeply committed to supporting student-athletes through structured academic oversight, wellness advocacy, and institutional accountability.
