Darius D. Satterfield serves as a Graduate Assistant for Media Relations with the Elizabeth City State University Department of Athletics. A proud ECSU graduate, Satterfield earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management and was a member of the Honors Program. During his undergraduate career, he was also a two-sport student-athlete, competing in football as a punter and kicker and as a member of the men’s golf program from 2022-2026.Â
In his role with Viking Athletics, Satterfield supports the department’s athletic communications and media relations efforts, including digital content, sports information, gameday operations, and event production. Prior to becoming a graduate assistant, he gained hands-on experience with ECSU Athletics through gameday and external operations, assisting with videoboard production, event management, fan engagement, and other departmental initiatives.
Satterfield has also developed extensive leadership experience within collegiate athletics, serving at both the conference and national levels through the CIAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and NCAA Division II SAAC. He currently serves at the Student-Athlete Representative on CIAA Management Council, NCAA Division II Management Council, and NCAA Division II Strategic Planning and Finance Commitee. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sport Management at Western Carolina University. With interests in athletic communications, governance, and administration, Satterfield aspires to continue developing as a collegiate athletics professional while positively impacting the student-athlete experience.
