Claudia Simpson

Claudia Simpson enters her first full year with the ECSU Sports Medicine Staff after joining the staff in January 2025 as an assistant athletic trainer.

Prior to ECSU, Claudia spent nearly two years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Hillside High School in Durham overseeing 29 sports.  During that time, Simpson also taught a Sports Medicine class.

For a brief stint, Simpson served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Football at N.C. Central.

Simpson spent a year as an Injury Prevention Specialist at Fit For Work in Florida along with being an Assistant Athletic Trainer at BFITT Athletic Training & Fitness Institute.

Claudia would gain experience serving as an Athletic Trainer at Leon County Schools for two years, along with a year as Head Athletic Trainer at Tallahassee State College, formerly Tallahassee CC.

Simpson received her bachelors degree in Athletic Training from Georgia Southern in 2020, as she worked with the Eagles’ Men’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball, and Football programs.  Simpson would go on to receive her masters in Exercise Physiology – Sports Science from Florida State in 2022.

Claudia is nationally certified and state licensed in North Carolina and Florida (LAT, ATC), and is certified as a Strength and Conditioning specialist (CSCS).
