Alyssa Moore

Elizabeth City State University Women’s Basketball welcomes Alyssa Moore to the coaching staff as an Interim Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach.

Moore brings valuable experience to ECSU after previously serving as an assistant coach at Bluefield State University and as a graduate assistant coach with the University of South Carolina women’s basketball program under head coach Dawn Staley.

During her time with the Gamecocks, Moore assisted with opponent scouting, official visits, practice preparation, film breakdown and analysis, student-athlete development, and guard development. She was part of a South Carolina program that posted a 36-1 overall record and finished No. 1 in the final NET rankings during the 2022-23 season. That season culminated with four Gamecocks being selected in the 2023 WNBA Draft, including Aliyah Boston as the No. 1 overall pick.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Moore was a standout student-athlete at Kenwood Academy before continuing her playing career at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While at Milwaukee, she earned Most Improved Player honors during the 2018-19 season and was named Most Impactful Player during the 2019-20 campaign.

Moore earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Education in 2021 and later earned a master’s degree in 2023. She also continued her graduate studies at the University of South Carolina.

In her role with the Vikings, Moore will assist the ECSU women’s basketball coaching staff with player development, practice preparation, scouting, film analysis, recruiting efforts, and the day-to-day operations of the program.
