Aaron Harris joins the Elizabeth City State University football program as a Volunteer Assistant Coach, working primarily with the defense and special teams. An Elizabeth City, North Carolina native and graduate of Northeastern High School, Harris returns home to begin his collegiate coaching career after a standout playing career at North Carolina A&T State University.
During his collegiate career with the Aggies, Harris appeared in 49 games, recording 107 total tackles, including 81 solo stops, three tackles for loss, five interceptions, 31 passes defended and one blocked kick. He also made a significant impact on special teams, totaling 43 kick returns for 1,084 yards and two return touchdowns. Harris finished his collegiate career having established himself as a versatile contributor in both the defensive secondary and return game.
Following his final season at North Carolina A&T, Harris earned an invitation to the HBCU Legacy Bowl, where he showcased his playmaking ability by returning an interception for a touchdown. His collegiate performance also earned him an NFL rookie minicamp invitation with the Cleveland Browns, providing him the opportunity to compete at the professional level.
Now back in his hometown, Harris brings his playing experience and knowledge of the game to ECSU, assisting with the development of the Vikings' defense and special teams units. In his role, he supports player development, practice preparation and day-to-day football operations while using his experiences as a collegiate student-athlete and professional prospect to mentor the next generation of Vikings.
