Jessica Villegas enters her first season at the helm of the Elizabeth City State Softball program.
Villegas comes to ECSU after spending some time working at USA Preps as an instructional coach for one of the leading college recruitment organizations. She helped athletes sharpen their skills, get recruited, and create effective marketing strategies to stand out in the recruiting process on the national stage.
Prior to USA Preps, Villegas served as an assistant coach at North Carolina A&T focusing on pitching, power hitting, and slapping. During her time with the Aggies, the team ERA saw improvement and guided student-athletes to multiple MEAC All-Conference selections.
Villegas was a four-year starter at Jackson State where she was a two-way player for the Tigers. She tallied 479 innings in the circle and appeared in 125 games during her career racking up SWAC Freshman of the Year honors, along with SWAC Second and Third Team accolades along the way.
She would receive a bachelors degree in Psychology from Jackson State in 2010, and later receive her masters in Clinical Mental Health from North Carolina A&T.
Villegas has volunteered with the Miracle League of High Point and the RBI Monarchs Softball Program.
